One of the most difficult questions to answer in Ventilation design is, "Where do you position your Extractor fans in a room?" Most Engineers decide to position your Extractor fan relative to your room's exterior window. This means that for a toilet with a centralized or non-centralized window, then your extractor fan should be positioned just above this window's lintel and at the center relative to this windows width.

Well, this idea is great. However, over the years, I have seen Builders or Civil Engineers modify the width of their windows. I have seen situations that this windows have ben relocated to another wall. By doing this the Extractor fan most time looks awkwardly positioned.

This has made me develop the principle of positioning my Extractor fans in a position that is not dependent on the space's window width or position. I position my Extractor fans based on the room's width and orientation. These two features are usually fixed and seldom changed during the cause of the project. You seldom see a Building Engineer change the toilet's room width or orientation.
